The New Kind Of Writing

Writing a school paper or note to a friend with pen and pencil is sooo yesterday. For those who are stuck in yesterday, you need to bump it up to today where we use something called technology to write. instead of writing a paper or taking notes with pens and pencils you can simply just type your paper or your notes on your laptop. why write a letter or note to a friend when you can just text them? writing with technology is so much better than writing with a pen or a pencil because you don't have to worry about your pencil being sharpened or your pen having ink. Instead of writing letters to a friend or family member who lives a distance you can email them and hear from them sooner than you would by letter. using technology to write is less of a hassle and can be done by everyone. So for those in the world of yesterday, put down the pen and step into the world of today where we use the new kind of writing.

Technology In Writing

So Technology in writing has become a huge part of people lives. E-mail, IM, Texting some of the most popular ways to write using tech. I personally love it. I have an on going e-mail chain with my best friend from high school, that we send back and forth once a day. It lets me know all the things that are going on in his life when they happen. It's also easy to send a quick e-mail about your day to someone then to try and find time when you can both sit and talk on the phone or in person. I also really like texting. I'm an addict I'm always texting with someone. it quick and easy and i can do while I'm doing something else. The one thing that I don't like about writing with tech. is that you cant see or hear emotion or tone so you could write something to mean one thing and someone else could read it and think it means something totally different. You can add things like :) or :O to show and emotion or say lol or jk sometimes it can still be hard to tell. Idk but i really like technology in writing and think its a great way to communicate with friends especially when they live far away.

Convincing the Public

In the United States every fifteen minutes an innocent teenagers life is taken from a drunk driver. That means every fifteen minutes a sister, son, cousin, or grandchild's life is gone because someone didn't know how to drink and be responsible. Teenagers' lives are being taking with a blink of an eye and no one is doing anything about it. How many young lives have to be taken before something is done about it? We need to take charge within our communities and fight against drinking and driving. We need to get together as a community and convince people to join the fight against drinking and driving. Teenagers are our future, isn't it time we help them live long enough to have a future of their own?

Analyzing the movie Across the Universe

This weekend I finally watched a movie, Across the Universe, that got a lot of media attention and was nominated for an Oscar in costume design. The film takes place during the Vietnam War and follows the lives of young people and how they dealt with the clash of cultures that was undeniabley present in the United States. The movie uses songs by The Beatles and incorporates them into the movie (needless to say, it helps that the two main characters are named Jude and Lucy).
Jude, the male lead, moves from Liverpool to the United States, initially, to find his father. When he arrives at Princeton he befriends a student, Max, who brings him home to his family. Later, Max decides he wasn't cut out for school and drops out. As the story continues Lucy, Max's sister comes to live with them. For a while they are all enjoying living their slightly off beat lives untill max gets drafted. After this, Lucy becomes extremely politically charged and they begin to speak out against the war.
Overall, I thought the movie was very entertaining and was well made. I am a big Bealtes fan and enjoyed how the songs were used in the move. I also liked how the plot showed a familiar story from a different point of view.

Analyzing Big Brother

I watch this show called Big Brother. Its a reality TV show where they put a bunch of people in a house together and have them play games to see who get s to stay in the house. The last person in the house wins $500,000 and second place gets $50,000. The game is based on scheming, lieing, and manipulation of the other house guests. You never really know whats going to happen, and the theme of the show is expect the unexpected and it drives me crazy. This week two people i really like got put on the block (place were you are when you might get voted out) but my favorite was able to get off. Because she took herself off the block the head of the house (the person who is in charge for the week) has to put someone knew on the block. It was totally decided that this guy Mattie was going up on the block and going home, when all of the sudden the head of house decided to put up a different guy that no one expected instead. I guess it makes sense because it turned the house upside down and divided one of the biggest partnerships. So as a game plan i guess it works but it really irritated me because i really like this guy who went up. Oh well its on again tomorrow and I will get to find out if my guy goes home or not. We shall see.

analyzin a confusing guy

so i'm sittin here soo confused. i can't stop thinkin bout the textin that had jus taken place between me and joe. what did he mean he got the drift and he isn't dumb? apparently he didn't get the drift that i like him cuz his answer to my question was totally wack. i'm guess either he is dumb and doesnt get it or he jus doesn't see me that way. it seems like he does when he talks to me, but after that text i'm questionin every word that has come out of his mouth. maybe i should jus get over it and over him. next time we text i won't be droppin any hints his way. what really confused me was when he asked if i got the dog i wanted. i didn't even tell him i was getting one, but some how he knew. and then when i asked him how he knew he didn't text back. man he is sooo sneaky. he plays way too much games and i don't get why. well two can play this game and best believe he won't be the winner at the end.
